1Day Sooner poll shows bipartisan support for global vaccine assistance

1Day Sooner commissioned polling from Positive Sum Strategies to understand U.S. voters’ knowledge levels on malaria vaccines and public support for the United States supporting international malaria efforts.

Voters overwhelmingly support the United States helping to produce and distribute vaccines and funding Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. There is strong, bipartisan support (68%) for the U.S. to support other countries in developing, procuring, and distributing vaccines, even when voters hear arguments against U.S. support. Additional results showed that a majority (57%) believe vaccine distribution will help prevent future pandemics, improve international stability, and potentially reduce the number of refugees.

The survey was conducted via an online sample of 1,010 respondents fielded over web panels from July 14 to July 15. The respondents were weighted according to education, gender, race, survey engagement, and 2020 election results. The margin of error is +/- 4.0.
